Business Development Manager

About the Role

As part of our sales team in Cristie Data, a Business Development Manager will be responsible for developing profitable new business through the full sales cycle. Generating their leads from events, self-driven activity, network prospecting and in partnership with our marketing and internal sales teams.

A BDM will work in partnership with Cristie Data’s internal technical resources and those of our vendor partners including across the IOMART Group to develop and progress business opportunities by helping to ensure that fit for purpose solutions are identified, positioned, transacted and delivered in line with each client’s individual requirements.

The Business Development Manager role within Cristie is a fast paced, customer focused sales role, in which you will be liaising with clients across a wide range of industries and sectors through a variety of channels including quotes, proposals tenders and RFIs. As a Business Development Manager you will also work closely with Cristie Data Sales Leadership to drive continuous improvement in all aspects of your role.

The ideal Candidate for the role will have/be:

  • Experience in a New Business Development role aligned to the areas of; Baas, DraaS Data Storage, Data Protection, Virtualisation, HCI, Networking, SD-WAN or Email Security
  • Ability to demonstrate a detailed understanding of solution selling
  • Broad understanding of Data Centre technologies
  • Enthusiastic with a “can-do attitude”
  • Adept at identifying new logos, networking and gaining referrals
  • Good knowledge of one or two target markets and their associated dynamics
  • Ability to prepare accurate sales documentation for potential/existing customers, e.g. quotes, proposals, tenders and RFIs
  • Capable of networking at all levels of the decision-making cycle
  • Educated to Degree level, however this would be advantageous and is not essential

Technical Support Engineer

Role Description

You will be one of our Customer Support technical team delivering, managing and developing support services from infrastructure through to applications and operating systems. Our support engineers typically handle issues from start to finish – and where that isn’t possible issues will be escalated to software or hardware vendors. We will supplement your existing knowledge by providing on-the-job training and mentoring to increase confidence and ability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Answer advanced technical support questions relating to the implementation and application of Cristie Data products and services
  • Day to day customer communication via telephone, ticketing system, direct email, face to face and using remote access technologies
  • Assist with the administration and maintenance of equipment and applications at Cristie Data’s managed service customers sites and at Cristie Data’s remote data centres
  • Assist with reporting and alerting for all Cristie Data managed service customers
  • Use of Cristie Data Support Systems: Automated case logging, CRM, Monitoring Systems
  • Managing tasks in our datacentres and liaising with NOC technicians to configure system or troubleshoot issues

 

Skills/Experience

  • Windows and/or Linux basic admin skills
  • Basic understanding of data storage, backup and infrastructure virtualisation
  • Basic understanding of LAN and WAN networking principles and cloud technologies
  • Previous experience of the following an advantage but not essential:
    • Arcserve UDP
    • Veeam Backup and Replication
    • Zerto
    • HPE Nimble
    • HPE Aruba
  • Exceptional customer service skill
  • Previous experience at a Managed Services Provider and advantage but not essential
