RecoverTrac Technology Overview
Automated disaster recovery at no additional cost
FalconStor® RecoverTracTM technology is a standard, integral feature of FalconStor® Continuous Data Protector (CDP) and FalconStor® Network Storage Server (NSS) solutions, providing automated disaster recovery at no additional cost. The RecoverTrac tool enables you to protect and preserve critical business applications and data in any environment.
Drives service-oriented data protection
By fully automating the resumption of servers, storage, networks and applications in a coordinated fashion, RecoverTrac technology stages the recovery of complete services, providing service-oriented data protection. You can define and implement specific levels of data protection and availability, developing recovery policies based on business requirements. The RecoverTrac tool enables seamless IT operations and business continuity, helping your organization to meet or exceed service-level agreements (SLA).
Automates failover and failback operations
Most disaster recovery solutions focus on replicating data to a remote site, and not on rebuilding servers, reinstalling operating systems and applications, reconfiguring networks, and reassigning storage volumes. RecoverTrac technology automates these complex, time-consuming, and error-prone tasks, in addition to replicating data. Furthermore, RecoverTrac technology automates disaster recovery testing, cloning, failover, and failback of data center operations.
Flexible, open architecture supports physical and virtual environments
RecoverTrac technology is the first disaster recovery automation solution to bring service-oriented recovery to both physical and virtual server infrastructures. Its open, integrated architecture supports heterogeneous environments, eliminating vendor lock-in. The RecoverTrac tool works with all operating systems, virtual machines, and networks. Recovery jobs can include physical-to-physical (P2P), physical-to-virtual (P2V), or virtual-to-virtual (V2V). Integration with VMware ESX Server and Microsoft Hyper-V enables automated provisioning of virtual servers at a remote site. Single or multiple recovery locations are supported, as well as local and remote recovery.
